Ride of the Falling Leaves

Today was our farewell to summer and hello to Autumn. More like hello to winter or ride of the falling rain.

As you can see, it all started ok with 7 riders in a wee bit of G3R kit. Only 7 I hear you ask, yes we would have had 8 but Mr Leitch slept in, citing the excuse that he had been up most of the night shaving his legs! Anyway we set out for a gentle ride to Dunblane for a coffee and cake, but after that it all went horribly wrong! The cold and the rain didn't stop us going for the med look and having a coffee on the street. Gordon thought he should get in a spot of sun bathing or titillate the ladies and decided to change in the doorway to the cafe, much to the amusement of the staff.

But after that, David drove it hard to get warm and my blood sugar was still in Dunblane and therefore the next 50 miles weren't pretty for me.

I think Fiona enjoyed her first ride with the bunch, she didn't say much over the sandwiches but she hung on well, Robert the true gentleman pretended he was tired and stayed with her. I can't say too much about what happened as I spent quite a bit of the day working out what went, blue, red, grey, black, blue, red, grey, black as I followed a continuous line of wheels only once taking the front to drop the speed :-).

As for the rest, they seemed to be riding strongly with Sian winning strongest rider of the day and shaking all the boys out long before the finish line to take the tape.

Post ride, a warm shower was had and then along the longest singletrack rode in Scotland (much to Gordon's disgust) to get a sandwich and a scone at Monachyle Mhor.
